All Seasons Church of Canada, Burlington Outreach Ministry
ANNUAL REPORT of Ministry
June 30, 2008
Attention: Rev. K.D. McKibbon
Let me begin by saying that my involvement with All Seasons Church is helping to change the world one little bit at a time.
I’ve been in ministry now for 27 years, most in the area of missions.
My ministry is twofold. It is local and it is international.
First, my local ministry takes on a different dimension than most local Pastors.
Locally I fill in for Pastors who are away and/or ill thus giving them a much needed rest.
Thus is the last year I’ve been asked to speak approximately 12 times at the local church level and in senior citizen residences.
At the local level I continue to reach out to people with no contact to a Church trough my wedding ministry. I’ve discovered that weddings have opened up a whole new world of pastoral care and ministry as many people I’ve married use this time to get in touch with their roots and return to their faith in God. It’s terrific to be able to provide that help during their search and re-discovery. We as ministers eventually become the Pastors to many who would not otherwise go to church.
My other minister is international in scope. My main preaching -church is through a TV camera as a missionary representative of All Seasons Church of Canada. As a senior producer on assignment to a national daily TV program called www.crossroads.ca . This takes me around the world.
My trips have taken me to Uganda, Kenya, Peru, Jamaica and Northern Manitoba.
At these locales I do a combination of speaking and/or documentary productions.
These social justice productions are used to make local congregations as well as most of Canada – (as these programs are broadcasted nationally) – aware of the plight of the poor and destitute.
To give an example my last trip to Kenya I produced a documentary on the horrendous treatment and conditions of single mothers and prostitutes. Showing what Canadians and the Canadian Government has done to improve the life of these individuals.
OTHER MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
Officiated 9 weddings. Conducted 3 Funerals, Performed 5 Baptism/Dedication services.
Overseas I trained 26 students this year from 13 countries in Christian mission’s video work.
I am constantly upgrading myself in biblical studies either by correspondence or a bible study group.
My next step is to upgrade in the area of Pastoral and Grief Counseling.
I find my work uplifting and challenging. I truly enjoy going to work each and every day. Thanks you to our Church for your great support, encouragement, and prayers.
Sincerely,
Rev Dennis Curley
