By their fruits
you will know them!
All Seasons Church is part of the emerging church movement. (Google it). We own no buildings we travel light. Our emphasis is on fellowship, pastoral care, justice and ministry to those who have no Church. We consider every person a part of our fellowship. We are unhappy with most organized Churches and we attempt to minister to those of a like mind and spirit. We recognize that there are many spiritual paths all arriving at the same place. Are we a Christian Church? You decide. Are all our ministers Christian? You apply your definition and let us know? We look at what they do and make our determination.
Does every Church have to have the stereotypical number of congregations? What is a congregation anyway. A bunch of the spiritually dead sitting on wood every Sunday for an hour?
Does our minister have a congregation if he/she ministers to street people? We think so. The members of that congregation would be the homeless the minister encounters each day. How do you count those members?
Ditto the pastor who has a visiting ministry. Visiting people in hospitals, nursing homes and seniors residences. Is this not a ministry and is the congregation not all the folks who receive pastoral care? No one asks if they are Christian? We just care!
Ditto those ministers who teach, have a counselling practice, chaplains etc. etc.
We leave the bricks and boards and the Sunday three hymns and a sermon and wooden pews to others. We all have our own definition of Church and ministry and you have yours.
All Seasons Church became incorporated by Letter Patent May 27, 1997 pursuant to the Canada Corporations Act. All Seasons Church was recognized as a registered charity May 27, 1998, Registration number #887274678RRR0001 .
Beginning with one minister in 1994 the Church now has nearly 300 ordained and Appointed ministers.
In addition, All Seasons Church of Canada is now recognized by the Governments of Ontario , Nova Scotia, and Alberta to solemnize marriage.
All Seasons Church has, as part of it's mandate, the power to Ordain or Appoint. Thus we have two categories of clergy associates that we credential. Depending on ones educational qualifications and ministry experience, one can be Ordained or Appointed to the order of ministry.
Normally to be Ordained one requires a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Theology or Religious Studies and must meet with the approval of a ordination committee.
We share our portion of the "truth" through pastoral ministries, teaching, counselling, wedding ministries, chaplaincies (paid and volunteer), house churches, and social justice projects etc.
Our Mission
Part of the Mission of All Seasons Church is our ability to recognize the Ordination of pastors from other denominations, and welcome those seeking admission to the order of ministry of All Seasons Church. In many cases we are also able to restore credentials to pastors who have had their credentials lifted unjustly, thus restoring them to ministry.
If you think your world view is the only way then you would not be happy with us.
Our History
All Seasons Church of Canada was formed in 1997 by people helping with the Clergy Support Network. The Clergy Support Network is an outreach of ministers to ministers who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.
In the early '70's Casey McKibbon began a study of the Church that was called "Clergy Abuse". It was before all the current talk of priests abusing boys etc. It was about the Church hurting it's clergy.
A network of concerned people evolved out of this to become advocates for clergy in trouble and that group of caring people was called "Clergy Abuse". Then later, to avoid confusion with the abuse in the Catholic Church, the network changed its name to The Clergy Support Network.Later it became part of All Seasons Church.
Advocacy is a big part of the All Seasons Ministery. Over the years The Clergy Support Network has helped well over 2000 ministers who claim they are being mistreated by their denomination.
We share our portion of the "truth" through independent pastoral ministries, teaching, counselling, wedding ministries, chaplaincies (paid and volunteer), house churches, and social justice projects etc.
